At the end of 2021, as the global epidemic situation rebounded, the security industry entered a stage of accelerated transformation and restructuring. LIDE Tech invites you to revisit the highlights of the 18th China International Public Security Expo (CPSE 2021).

From December 26th to 29th, 2021, the 18th CPSE was held at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, showcasing cutting-edge technologies such as 5G, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and AIoT systems. The event brought together over 20 sub-industries including security monitoring, smart home, intelligent transportation, anti-theft alarms, chips, biometrics, inspection systems, UAVs, and fire rescue, featuring more than 60,000 security and protection products.

After over 40 years of development, China has become the world’s leading producer and the largest market for security products. In the past, the core mission of “security” was safety. Today, it also represents efficiency. The keyword “AIoT” (Artificial Intelligence + Internet of Things) was a major focus at the exhibition, symbolizing a new era where intelligent technologies drive the evolution of the security industry.

AI chips remain a key foundation. Since August 2020, restrictions on Huawei caused an industry-wide shortage of HiSilicon chips, leading to long-term supply constraints. Although mid-to-high-end AI chip manufacturing faces multiple barriers, HiSilicon’s role in the security ecosystem remains irreplaceable.

At the China Security Forum, experts summarized eight major trends shaping the industry in 2021: AI resurgence, ecosystem integration, smart homes, global market expansion, privacy protection, AIoT, price adjustment trends, and the “core” chip movement.

In the first three quarters of 2021, global demand for security products grew steadily. Buyers mainly came from the United States, Mexico, India, Brazil, and other regions, with strong inquiries for surveillance cameras, protective equipment, self-defense tools, and alarm systems.
